Our Adventure at Overland Expo: A Personal Expedition
Our journey to Overland Expo West was an adventure in itself, undertaken in our beloved 1989 Toyota FJ62 Land Cruiser. This classic rig, a testament to enduring automotive engineering, proved its reliability once again on the scenic drive to Flagstaff. For accommodation, we chose the innovative Yakima Skyrise rooftop tent, which quickly became one of the highlights of our three-night stay. The Skyrise truly exceeded expectations with its remarkably easy deployment and exceptional comfort, providing a cozy and elevated sanctuary after long days of exploring the expo.
Beyond comfortable sleeping arrangements, staying powered up for the entire weekend was crucial. Our Ecoflow River portable power station was an absolute game-changer, effortlessly keeping all our devices charged, from cameras and phones to essential navigation tools. Complementing this, our Milwaukee Tool lights provided brilliant illumination around our campsite, ensuring visibility and safety long after the Arizona sun had dipped below the horizon. This combination of reliable power and lighting allowed us to fully enjoy the evening atmosphere of the expo without any logistical worries, truly embodying the spirit of self-sufficiency that overlanding champions.
